World of the Orient

Taylor Swift at the recent Brit Awards 2015. This is absolutely a beautiful gown don't you think? I hope to be able to have one customed made for myself one day! I just love dragons and peacock designs.

For your information Taylor Swift did wear another Oriental Designer gown at one of the Grammy Awards as shown below :

After seeing this, I decided to blog a piece on the Chinese Oriental Style of Fashion, and since it is still the Chinese New Year season, I thought doing a write up on this subject would be most suitable.

Chinese Oriental Style of dressings come a very long way since the early centuries in China. Here's a very interesting article about the history of Chinese clothing.

What is most amazing is the detailed artwork and the designs on the fabric used to produce such beautiful clothing. Most of it would be handmade. The softness of the fabric makes it not only easier to make an outfit, it is also very comfortable and cool to the touch.

Chinese Oriental clothing by far has been a very popular style of dressing over the centuries and even today with the ever changing styles in the fashion world, Chinese Oriental dressing has always maintained its original style even with modern twist been added to it at times.

Below are some of the revolution of the Chinese Oriental Clothing throughout time in China :

Chinese Oriental Clothing...With a Twist :

So as you can see from the few examples above, with the many talented designers today, the traditional design can be 'played around' and many beautiful designs come into place, while still keeping to the traditional Chinese touch to it.

Today... Its popularity has spread all across the world and it is not only worn by the Chinese nation alone but also highly favoured by many other world nationalities like the British, Americans, as well as Europe.

I come from a country where it is a mix of nationalities and cultures, and we Malaysians do wear the traditional clothings especially during festive seasons, weather if you are a Chinese, Malay, Indian or even Eurasian like myself.

Even the Orient has taken Hollywood by storm for some time already as you can see below...
